What happens next?

Once I receive your enquiry, we'll chat via email and phone to discuss the details of your proposal and get to know each other a little better.

From there, I'll put together a photography brief that includes a mood board, quote and summary of everything we've discussed, along with your invoice.

To secure your booking, a booking fee (included in the package price) will be required.

On the day of your shoot, I'll arrive early to scout the location and make sure everything is ready to go. I'll be waiting discreetly with a vision of 'the spot' until you arrive. When you bend down on one knee I'll be shooting from afar so that you both can enjoy the intimacy of the moment. Next, I'll introduce myself to you and your fiancée and we'll do a short couples shoot, guided by prompts that create authentic candid moments.

After the shoot, I will immediately get to selecting and editing a few highlights so you have something to share the news with loved ones that very night. The rest of the images will be delivered through an online gallery within the next week, where you can view, download and enjoy all of your photos.

Creating beautiful imagery involves thoughtful planning across several elements, including lighting, location, outfits, hair, makeup, and, where appropriate, props.

Sunset is often the ideal time for a proposal, offering soft, flattering light and warm tones that create the most romantic photographs.

When it comes to outfits, coordination is key. Neutral tones are a timeless and versatile choice that work well in most locations. Consider the weather, your personal style, and how your clothing will complement the chosen setting. As a general rule, it's best to avoid overly bright colours and busy patterns, as they can distract from the overall image.

Planning Tips

At the end of the day, all you really need is a ring, a location, a photographer, and the love of your life.

The ring: To keep your ring concealed leading up to the moment, consider a slim-fit ring box, no box at all, taking a bag or a jacket with larger pockets, or leaving your ring at the proposal location eg. a pre-set picnic.

The location: Consider where is meaningful to you and your partner, what will photograph nicely/position to sunset, and how public or private you would like it to be.

The photographer: Have a very clear plan with your photographer. We need to know the exact 'spot' you plan to bend down on one knee so we're not looking in the wrong area. It's also an option to involve your photographer in the moment. Perhaps I am at the location "shooting landscapes" and you "spontaneously" ask me for a photo before proposing, or perhaps it's "just a couples shoot". There are plenty of options to create the experience you are after.

The love of you life: Consider if she'd want to be dressed up and have her makeup done, or if she's okay being surprised in a dressed down look. If you think she'd want to be looking her best, then incorporate that into the plan. Plan a nice date (cute picnic / winery / restaurant), use a family gathering as an excuse, or make it about the photos - a planned couples shoot or wanting a nice photo for Granny.

Bonus tips: It's a good idea to be prepared for cold/windy weather by bringing one of her nice jumpers and a cute beanie or bandana. This is also handy if your partner has no idea what's coming and isn't quite dressed for the occasion.
